A backup using the WinXP (NTBackup)was done across a LAN
network to a hard drive located on a Win98 computer.
After a OS (WinXP) reinstallation a restore was attempted
to retrieve the backed up data. A "unrecognized media"
error window pops up with the message "Backup file
contains unrecognized data and cannot be used" when a
restore operation of the "backup.bkf" file is attempted
through NTBackup. Same error occurred when the
backup.bkf file was copied unto the computer into which
the restore was being attempted.
