** XP Pro Shutdown Probs **

Please can anyone help......


I have XP Pro and in the last few days it seems to be
refusing to shut down
using the correct means. Will not even do a re-start when
asked. The only
thing I can do is switch it off which I don't think is
all that good for the
thing....

It does not freeze or anything - just seems to ignore the
request....

How does System Restore help this (if at all)?
