when i click on disc defrag it says snap in failed to
initialize. Then it says snap in failed to intialize. I
did a scan. did i delete something wrong? I only deleted
temporary files and temporary internet files. Would
appreciate help.

If you are runnin either version of XP, why load your system with bloat,
like Norton utilities which will slow your machine about as much as
anything.. Get the retail version of Disk Keeper, which is a defrag program
that is part of XP in a scaled-down form... I don't believe, that with the
relative stability of XP and the small programs to clean-up your stuff, you
need anything like Norton, but then, some people feel better if they have
all these 'optimization' features installed, even though if it is a clean
install and you haven't mucked it up with lottsa other stuff it should run
fine.
