printer failure and other problems after windows updates?

i'm suspecting it was after my latest update that i could
no longer print. it would come up with an error message
that pretty much said i needed to reinstall the printer
etc. however, my printer is working fine. another problem
that i have as well, is all my title bars appear clear,
the letter coloring is all messed up, as well as the start
menu. everything seems to be messed up, and i don't know
what the problem is. it is not only my computer, but the
other one i am using as well, not at the same location,
but at work. someone please help! reply to my e-mail asap!
