AOL access problems after inst of sp2

Cannot access aol using aol 9.0 following installation of new xp pro which
includes sp2. Aol advise SoftV92 Data Fax Modem driver is out of date. How do
I obtain an update? Driver provider is microsoft; driver date 18/07/2003 ;
driver version 7.12.9.0

Find out the name of your modem's manufacturer, then go to the website of
the mfr. and look for a link to downloads. Be sure to get the most recent
driver, and that it is your exact model.
How to find the manufacturer:
Start / Control Panel / Phone & Modem / Modem tab

All i have is ;- softV92 data fax modem , provider microsoft , dated
18/7/2003, version 7.12.9.0. Have been to microsoft; looked at downloads,
tried every search possibility but drawn a complete blank.Any more ideas or
pointers?

Are you looking at the driver page, or the Modem page that I described? Do
you actually see something like:
"Microsoft softV92 data fax modem"
I have to question whether you went to the Modem Tab as I directed...

aol internet is 25 bucks/month. Standard isps are ten bucks/month. Use a
standard isp.
