Hello!
The download box says to backup my system before DL'g SP2.....Will someone
tell me what this means?..
I plan on backing up my documents and personal stuff..Thanks,Nicholas.

You may also want to backup your Address Book, Emails and Favourites,
but basically you are on the right track.
When you do the update windows will create restore point
automatically so if things get ugly, hopefully you can recover to a
working system.
But it doesn't always work out that way, hence the advice to
backup your valued files.
I stongly recommend you go to the nearest computer store and
ask them for a copy of the SP2 CD - its free, beats D/L ing the
files from MS. Also make sure you read and implement the advice
from MS before doing the update

System Restore is not designed for and will not restore personal files.
System Restore is not a substitute for back-ups of important data.
See this for more about System Restore:

Nicholas;
It is not essential to back-up data before installing a Service Pack that is
just a precautionary statement just in case..
But you should always have current back-ups of all important data, not just
while installing a Service Pack.

I don't think he implied what you think he did.
