I am visiting a friend who wants to put a single cyber=20
caf=E9 station in her small store. She got a new PC and XP=20
Professional and since she has a very little computer=20
knowledge I offered to help. A problem arose when I was=20
going through one of the last steps having to do with the=20
static IP address. I 'thought' I backed out of the setup=20
process properly but it had gone and put it self into auto=20
startup.

Now the cyber software takes over every time the PC is=20
turned on like it should to prevent a user from getting=20
into the system but it isn't setup for use. I tried the=20
different things even setting the clock speed to slow=20
giving me time to delete the icon from Startup on the=20
programs memory but no help.

My last option will be to reinstall XP and hope it wipes=20
out every thing but am a bit worried that will it will be=20
necessary to reactivate XP? Is this going to work and be a=20
problem? Or what else can I do to delete this cyber=20
station software so the computer is not locking her out of=20
using the computer for other things?

Please help........

Boot the computer into Safe Mode and press the F8 key when the black
screen flashes briefly just prior to the first Windows XP startup splash
screen. Sometimes it is necessary to just rapidly tap the F8 key starting
just as soon as the first information of any kind shows on the screen.

In Safe Mode you can use Start - Run - MSCONFIG to remove the Cyber
software from the Startup.

Or you can use Accessories - System Tools - System Restore to put the
system back to the most recent restore point that is prior to the
installation of the Cyber software.

If neither of these works post a response back here with the details.
There are other options that are preferable to wiping out and reinstalling
everything.

Good luck
