Epson Printer

Just upgraded from Windows ME to xp ver 5.1.2600. Printer
light on and printer will self test. Epson stylus color
400. Have gone through all troubleshooting procedures.
All installation and driver is correct. Print will not
respond to dos ECHO HELLO test. Sometimes this test will
respond "assess is denied" other times no response.
What could be wrong? Have tried all including remove
Printer port. Reinstalled port reports working properly
and no conflicts.
