Everything ran fine untill i installed SP2. Now i cannot surf the web
connect to messenger or anything like that. I can ping things fine without
any loss's.

Ive reinstalled the network card. im running to date drivers.
Reinstalled IE6
Repaired the network connection
disabled my firewall.
Removed all spyware and virus's. completely clean.
Ran netsh commands
flushed the DNS

Still nothing from my browser or messenger but can still ping what ever i
want using the soft address and IP. This all happened after I formatted and
reinstalled XP Pro and finished my windows updates.

Any suggestions ?

Did you check to see if your TCP/Ip addresses are all there? It sounds like
you may have either a bad DNS server listed or you are not getting all of
your required addresses; Gateway, Dns Servers

Check that all of the IP addresses are there using IpConfig at the command
prompt.
