I have a Windows XP Pro SP2 system that was originally configured without an
administrator password or separate user profiles. I added an admin password
and also user profiles, but when rebooting, the system always tries to
automatically log on as administrator without a password. I can then enter
the password, or change the user name and log in as one of the users. I have
disabled fast user switching and the welcome screen.

I assume that when it was originally loaded, somehow it got set to assume
the administrator was the default user.

How can I change this?

Thank you

Dan

Start > Run > type "control userpasswords2" without the quotes > hit
enter... Untick the username and password bit (if it's already ticked) and
it SHOULD give let you select your default user and type in any passwords.
If it doesn't then tick the box, hit apply, then make sure it's unticked and
it should cycle through it again.
