I am desperately searching for ways to stop updates forced
on me whenever I connect to the web. To begin with, my
system was working very well until I said yes to the
update offer which kept popping up. The amount of
downloading came to about 40 MB and took about 20 hours
with many interruptions. Finally an installation took
place and after that the system started behaving in a
crazy way. Having reset it to the condition of before
the "update" it works again but I Explorer refuses to find
sites with messages such as: "cannot find server or DNS
error", "internet explorer could not open the search
page", "cannot find server". Meanwhile I have noticed that
MS updating resumed again and I would like to find a way
to stop this process to avoid further damage. I assume
that the downloads are corrupted in thetransmission.Please
tell me how to stop this forced updating. Please help!
