Just installed SP2, it disrupts the ability of 16 bit programs to share
networked resources on Win 98 machines in tcp/ip network. Example -- prior
to XP SP2 upgrade, using an XP Pro machine, we could modify a WordPerfect 6.1
document in a Win 98 computer's folder. Now, it will save the changes
sometimes, other times will refuse to.

In a different 16 bit program, the machines no longer 'see' the networked
Win 98 folders.

Why am I still using Win 98 machines? They move data across the network
much faster than XP.
Why am I still using WP 6.1? No subsequent WP or MSWord version has an
'Open File' dialoge box 1/8th as useful or fast as WP6.1.

If anyone knows a workaround for this, let me know.
What is the best way to tell MicroSoft about this?

Try to map the share as a drive. Windows explorer->tools->map network drive.
You should also use the compatibility tool found on the windows xp cd and
apply it to windows 98.
To send feedback to microsoft go to start->help and support->send feedback
