I guess I'll find out when I update to SP2, but here's the scenario.
The wife works as a realator. A new company bought them out. All new network and support from different vendors.
To log on; she has to push Ctrl, Alt, Del, and enter username & password.
XP Pro, SP1.
I figure this is a script sign-on that the network guy's cooked up. It's not the default XP log-on, but the gui looks simular.
I wonder what to expect after I log-on and install SP2 from the CD?
(network version burned to disc)
I'm sure during the Sp2 install, I'll be asked to reboot, but will I still get the Ctrl, Alt, Del, logon or will everything come to a screeching halt?
I just had to ask this for some virtual hand holding!
Thanks,
Treeman

Forgot to mention, the log-on from Ctrl, Alt, Del, looks like the NT logon screen.

Try this:

Start > Help and Support > Search "login" > Require users to press
CTRL+ALT+DELETE before logging in

So Bob,
If this is the case; Do Uncheck that box before SP2 update?
To require users to press CTRL+ALT+DELETE before logging on
You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group on a computer that is part of a network domain in order to complete this procedure. Network policy settings may also prevent you from completing this procedure.

Open User Accounts in Control Panel.
Click the Advanced tab.
In Secure logon, select the Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete check box.

To open User Accounts, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click User Accounts.
Pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE before logging on guarantees that the authentic Windows logon prompt appears. Requiring the use of CTRL+ALT+DELETE increases security and helps to thwart certain Trojan horse programs. Many Thanks,
Treeman
