WinXP will not accept driver

After doing a WinXP repair installation my video card
disappeared form device manager. After repeated attempts
to reinstall the driver it finally took it from the video
card CD and now the card is listed again in the device
manager. But, now I want to install the newest driver
from the card maker, the driver I was using before the
install and Window refuses to take it. I keep getting a
message that just says it is not the best driver for the
device. The driver that is in there is certainly not the
best but I can't convince Win XP!

Any suggestions?
