I used a little feature that XP has quite allot, for
mine and friends PC, when they got a bit carried away
with the delete button.
All I remember is Start/run/type in ( and this I
forgot) _ _ _ /scanfiles. It would then pop up a small
box, scan for missing XP files and if need be, would ask
that the XP disk be incerted and the file would be
replaced. Can you remind me of the complete command
needed? I formatted and reloaded and forgot to save it
and can't find the paper I had it written on. What a dumb
thing to do. :-( Pleas help?

Go to Start/Run, then type cmd. Then use:

sfc /?

At the Start, Run line type SFC /SCANNOW.
This is the one to run in XP.

down in my tech book this time. Only way I will loose it
now is if the house burns down. Heaven forbid.
