Printing over a network not working properly

Here's the scenario. I have a computer running winxp media center edition
2002 with a hp psc2410 all in one attached via usb. I just bought a sony
vaio laptop p4 1.7Ghz. When I try to use the printer through the laptop over
the network it installs fine everything looks good but when I go to print a
test page a blank sheet prints. I can't get anything to print through any
program on the laptop. I did attach the printer to laptop and it worked fine
the problem is when it is over the network. Any suggestions help would be
appreciated. thank you for your time.

check the eventlog for any errors on the media center system.
