I downloaded Microsoft's program Bootvis.exe with some other maintenance
tools, and I no longer recall what this program is supposed to do. The help
tab only says "Compatible with Windows XP build 2600" (which I am using).
Has anyone used this program and are you able to offer assistance in its
use?

It will analyze your bootup process and try to make it run faster. It didn't
work for me.

Install it to a file called "Ptools" in C:/programs. It will trace your =
boot sequence and graphically illustrate how long programs take to load. =
On "trace" click "optimize system". Your machine will shut down and =
reboot. The boot files will then be arranged on the HD for best =
performance.
Pay no attention to "disk write caching disabled" - that's just the way =
it is. There is no help file. There is a white paper on the bootvis =
page to download and read. It is a developers tool. =20
