Trying to install XP, I got the dreaded BSOD. Decided to
revert to 2K. That failed, too. The only thing that I can
think of is the fact that the FDD controller got fried
when my PSU went nova. Everything else works as it should,
but I've had to revert to 98SE as a result of this. Is
there a way of fooling the respective installers into
believing that I have an FDD on my system, or is there
another way around this? The floppy is disabled in the
BIOS, too. I hope so, coz a new mobo is a bit out of my
range at the moment...

Thanks, in anticipation...

Katzy!

The XP CD (and the Windows 2000 CD) is bootable. Set your BIOS to look for
bootable devices in the following order:

FDD, CD, HDD

Stick the XP CD in the CD drive, restart the PC. When the message appears
on the screen,

Press A Key to Boot from CD.....

(press any key, even the spacebar)
