This is my second attempt at upgrading this machine to SP2. Both times, SP2
caused the machine to spontaneously reboot. (I tried "Send this error to
Microsoft", and it came back with a problem with some unknown driver.
Personally, I suspect the Zip drive, but upgrading that driver didn't do
anything.)

Anyway, I removed SP2 and now the machine is working fine, except that the
only way to turn it off is with the power switch. Ideas?

Have you gone to Control Panel>Power Options>Power Schemes. Made
necessary adjustments there?

I currently believe I have a video driver problem. Give me a few minutes,
I'll know more.
