Windows Update

On one of our machines rnning XP Professional with all
posted updates the Windows update block is greyed out.
We tried the fix of removing the Windows root
certificates check in the add/remove windows components
box in add/remove programs. This was as recommended by
the knowledge base. Did not help. Any other ideas?
