Hey guys, I'm trying to resolve a problem with msn 7.0 for a friend of mine.
Whenever a file is sent, picture, music, whatever (haven't tried a .zip file
though) msn automatically blocks it and says it's a potential risk or
something. There was a post about it a few days back but unfornately I felt
it wasn't very helpfull.

The person suggested trying a .zip file. However, I can receive any type of
file except maybe .exe files. And I haven't done any different installation.
I checked all the settings on my friends computer, and we have every setting
practically identical. The only difference is that she is using AVG virus
scanner and has the microsft beta version of the spyware blocker.

I haven't tried that .reg file yet, only found out about it tonight, maybe
that will fix the issue... but anyway. If anyone has experienced this
problem, please let me know what you did to fix it. Thank you very much.

Greetings Michael,

This is the built-in functionality of SP2 which is doing this, and yes, the .reg file will
resolve it.

Hey Jonathan. Thanks a lot! that solved the problem. However I wonder why I
(and many others) didn't run into that problem? Because I uninstalled her msn
and re-installed the same way I did on my computer and I didn't have that
problem, weird... anyway, thanks a lot!

Hi Guys!

My brother is having exactly the same problem. I am not able to send him
MP3 files.

Where can I find the .reg file you are talking about?

Thanks!

J.-P.

You must reboot after applying the extension hack
