I've been using XP pro for about 6 months on my HP laptop.
This afternoon it suddenly will not boot all the way up.
Rather than getting the log on screen, I get a screen that
just has the logo. I've installed no new programs. I've
hit F8 and booted from the last known good configuration,
and have had no success. Does anyone know what the source
of this problem might be? Safe mode boots to the same
screen. TIA.
