Also, when I remove MSNMessenger, where else must I omit
it in Outlook Express and Internet Explorer. I'm a
newbie, so please give me easy instructions to follow.
Thanx :o)

Go to www.dougknox.com and http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp.htm
Should find some answers there.

Hi,

There are many reasons for slow performance.
I have 39 running process during start up and my desktop
appeared within 45 seconds. (P4 2GA and 1 G DDR ram)

First check, have you installed the update Q811493?
If yes, remove it from add or remove program.

Run anti-spywares, disk cleanup, chkdsk and defrag on a
regular basic, for example, once a week.

BTW, I run disk cleanup everyday using Norton Clean Sweep
before I shutdown the computer and run defrag every two
months.
