Cant uninstall .net framework

I have v 1.0.3705 of the .net framework and for some
reason the add/remove feature of windows xp does not let
me remove it telling me that its not installed. Can
anyone tell me a manual way of removing this program.
Have tried to install the latest version but all that
does is to install it along side rather than upgrade it.

Both versions of .NET Framework run side-by-side. You should not =
uninstall
..NET Framework 1.0 since version 1.1 is not an upgrade.
