First of all make sure you have all the latest Windows
updates. Next go to Control Panel and click Internet
Options. In the internet options window click the delete
cookies and the the Delete Files button. this will clear
both your cookies cache and temporary internet files. You
should also press the clear history button too. Now
rbeoot your machine, but this time boot into safe mode.
You can do this by booting your machine and then, just as
the bios info is appearing on the screen, i.e., memory
check boot devices etc, press F8 repeatedly (don't hold
it down just rpeatedly press it)until a dos menu screen
appears. Scroll up to the top where it says Safe Mode and
then press Enter.
Once in safe mode first go to Start/All
Programs/Accessories/Command prompt. At the command
prompt type: 'chkdsk' (without the quotes) Your disk will
be checked for errors. After this has finished go to
Control Panel and Click on Administrative Tools. In the
Admin Tools window click the Computer Management icon.
Once the Computer Management windows opens select Disk
Defragmenter from the Storage section of the menu on the
left of the window. Finally select the drive you wish to
defragment and then press the Defragment button. Don't
waste time pressing Analyze because as soon as you press
the defragment button it will automatically analyze the
drive before defragmenting. by pressing analyse first you
will simply be adding extra time to the defragment.

see if that helps
