I have the most current version (with updates) of Windows XP Home Edition. I
have IE6 SP1 as well as the most current version of Netscape. One day I
logged on to view some animated GIFs, and they would not animate. I thought
this was a problem with IE, so I tried Netscape: NOTHING. I *know* that this
is not a problem with the images because I have tried viewing over 50
animated GIF sites, and none of the images will become animated in either IE
or Netscape. Please help!! Thank you in advance.

Hope,
Are you using ZoneAlarm Pro?
If so disable the "block animated" option.
