View Full Version : Unable to Shut Down Windows XP SP2

Since installing Avast anti-virus software I have been unable to shut down
windows. Everything goes as expected and the computer powers down and then
starts straight back up again. I have now removed Avast and installed AVG
but still have the same problem. Has anybody any ideas on what I need to do,
as I think to keep pulling the plug is not a good idea.

Thanks for that Will. I have looked at the site and I have not been able to
find a solution, I have disabled the 'restart on system failure' but to no
effect and I have disabled the Network card from waking up the system again
to no effect. So if anybody can think of anything else I can try it would be
much appreciated.
