xp registry.Can I import to registry.

This is what I did.
Start>run>regedit>+My computer>File>Export>Save in
Ive tried to import these with no luck either.
+HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
+HKEY_CURRENT_USER
+HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
+HKEY_USERS
+HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG

fOR ALL i'VE TRIED NEITHER ME NOR DELL ASSISTANCE COULD
GET EITHER OF OUR MACHINES TO IMPORT ANY ONE OF THESE HKEY
OR MY COMPUTER.

I don't think it's possible to import the whole registry.
Not sure of the technical details, but I tried it once,
I couldn't get it to work either.
Perhaps someone will fill in some details.
