shut down problems

My computer stops responding during shutdown. I followed
the help support and isolated the problem to be a startup
item, microsoft office. The help support offered no
advice as to what to do after you have isolated the
problem. Other than diabling this startup item each time
I turn on the computer, I don't know how to fix the
problem. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Start Run MSCONFIG Go to Startup tag and uncheck Microsoft Office
