Need Upload assistance XP Pro SP2

I can not upload files to websites anymore
A temp ActiveXcontrol gets installed OK.
Reformatted hard drive, re-installed XP Pro plus SP2.
Installed all updates.
Firewall on/off, cookies at lowest security, nothing seems to help.
Upload just holds. Once in a while sends an error report to MS.
After each setting change I emptied cache (delete cookies, files including
offline and history).
Anybody with suggestions ?
Got a suggestion to check Java. I downloaded, installed and ran Microsoft VM
diagnostics. No problems found.

Hi, Rob.

This could be a hosting problem. Some time back I had a similar happening
then without warning all was okay again. After checking, I was told by the
hosting service they'd had a server malfunction. By then I was almost manic.

I now always upload with ftp - WS_FTP Pro.
