windows xp home--latest updates
I seem to have ghosts but very faint.
There is a vertical line about 1 half inch from the left side of the
screen also.
The mouse has it also and of course it effects the
reading of text.
Any ideas please?
Thank you,
JIM

Sounds like the monitor is going bad.

99.99999% of the time, it's the Video Card.

The easiest way to determine whether it is the monitor or video card is
to attach the computer to a different monitor. If the problem is gone,
you know the original monitor is dying and needs to be replaced. If the
problem appears on the known-good monitor, you know it's time to
replace the video card.

With an Analog monitor one of three possibilities not including the
possibility that the monitor is going bad...

This may or may not work with LCD monitor.

1) Adjust the horizontal position and/or size of the monitor directly
using the monitor controls.
2) Adjust the horizontal position and/or size using the video card
controls (if there is such thing included with your driver)
3) changing the refresh rate sometimes helps too.
