I recently replaced a Win98 pc with a Windows XP Pro pc. When I browse a
folder that is on a mapped network drive on a NT 4.0 Domain Controller that
has around 8000 files, it take three or for minutes to view the contents of
the folder. This happens on the two new XP pc's that I installed. This was
not a problem with the Windows 98 pc's. What is going on and what do I need
to look for?
I've checked the networking and it is ok, and the pc is running at 100
Base-t and the server is running 1000 Base-t in to a Cisco switch.
