I can't remotely shutdown workstations installed with o/s Windows XP SP2.
When disable the Windows Firewall, it works fine.
Any ideals what to be included in the 'Exception' of the Firewall???

Depending on the command you are using you can add the program to the
exceptions list. For example if you are using shutdown.exe then try adding
shutdown.exe to the list.

good luck!!!

i am using the 'shutdown.exe' from a Windows 2003 server to remotely
shutdown Windows XP sp2 workstation.
i only can add the local WinXP workstation 'shutdown.exe' to the exception
list, still doesn't work.
but strange...it works fine when remotely shutdown from WinXP sp2 to another
WinXP sp2 without changing anything in the XP Firewall.
