Hi,

Is it possible to read news in Microsoft Outlook. I know how to create a
news account in Outlook express but I can't do it in MO. At the moment I'm
using Outlook Express but I prefer MO!

Thanks in advance.

Outlook doesn't provide that capability. It was designed primarily
as a Corporate email client. Many Corporate networks intentionally
block Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP).

Actually, Microsoft Outlook uses Outlook Express as it's newsreader, but
calls it "Outlook Newsreader" instead. It's usually accessible from the
"Go -> News" menu. If you want to launch it independently, you can modify
an Outlook Express shortcut by putting /newsonly at the end of the command
line. This will turn off the mail functionality of Outlook Express when you
launch it. It doesn't permanently modify the program.

There is 3rd party software that can achieve this for you. One for example

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your help!

And one more question please. Is there a way that I can find my posts more
easily in Outlook? Because I have to search for my user name under
'Outlook/from' list to see if there are replies in my post and it takes few
minutes! Or is it possible to make my posts with other color?

Thanks

The OP was talking about newsgroups in Outlook (OL) not in Outlook Express.
Although it is the same control(Ctrl+H key) in Outlook Express also.

Um, Outlook USES Outlook Express as the newsgroup reader.

If you look at his original post and read it and then see my answer to it
then you understand. He did install it and now he is reading newsgroups in
Outlook(OL) NOT IN OE.

Here is the link with which he set it up

You may think the OP is reading newsgrups in OL but, sorry to inform you,
but you're wrong. Again, OL ***uses*** OE for newsgroups.

But the OP never *said* that he'd installed Newshound!

I f you look at his other post above (2 posts above this one) then you will

I have myself installed this program and I read newsgroups on Outlook (OL)
Not in OE. I f you do not use a 3rd party program such as the one I am
describing then obviously you are reading newsgroups in OE as you describe

Yes I presumed he was reading on OL since he asked if it is possible to set
up. Which it is with Newshound. The reason I presumed and I should have
looked at his properties is because he started a new thread and kept asking
about Outlook and an option.
