View Full Version : ToolTips disappeared and SP2

My desktop ToolTips have all disappeared. Unlike the other people who want to
know how to turn them off, I actually like them. I looked at the Folder
Options and it is checked so they should be on but they don't show. Any ideas?
Also, how can I tell if I have Service Pack 2 already installed? When I
look at the update reports it appears that some of the ones I recently okayed
for installation failed. But, I don't see one that is described as anything I
can recognize as SP2.
My About Windows says Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpclnt_qfe.021108-2107). Does
the .1 mean SP1?
Thanks.

not sure about your balloon tips, but if you right click my computer and
select properties it will tell you there what service pack you have installed

there are no problems, just challenges

Actually it doesn't. It says Windows XP Version 2002.

I think that sp2 is now seen as an sp1 upgrade. If you got to...
Start > Run and type in msinfo32, you will see if you have sp1 or sp2.

Patti, it appears that you do not have any Service Packs installed. SP2
includes all of SP1, FYI.

Patti, one thing you can try for your Tool Tips (might not work, but cannot
hurt):
Turn off Tool Tips
Reboot
Turn on Tool Tips
Reboot
