View Full Version : Audio Messenger 7.0 Compatibility
I am seeking an answer to the follwing problem:
I am Running XP Home and my friend has Windows ME and my friend has Windows
ME.
In attemting to use Messenger's Audio/Video Conference feature, I can hear
and see my friend with NO Problem, however he can see me, but NOT hear me.
Audio tuning says my audio is OK....... Lowering Firewalls show no difference
Question: What specific reasons can cause this one sided AUDIO
problem....Before 7.0 was`released, this feature was not available in ME to
my understanding. Could this still be the problem?
Thanks!

Greetings Marc,
Firstly, the two are compatible with one another, so the fact that you're each on separate
platforms doesn't matter. Audio has been in every Messenger release since 3.x (all
versions), video for all platforms was added via a plugin in 5.x and then fully to all
platforms in 6.x.
That being stated, this can commonly be caused by the QoS Packet Scheduler. To do so, click
Start, then click the Control Panel. If you're in category view click Network and Internet
connections then click Network Connections. Right click your network/internet connection,
then click Properties. Uncheck the QoS Packet Scheduler, then reboot and try again. If
you're unable to uncheck it (grayed but still on), choose the Uninstall button instead.
