the version of NTBackup that ships on the XP Home CD and must be manually
installed does not create Automated System Recovery (ASR). If you want to
create a full system backup you should look at third party software. Backup
MyPC from www.stompinc.com is the full featured version of NTBackup used by
Microsoft. They have a 30 day fully functional trialware version to see if
it meets your needs.Other popular programs fro creating system backups
include Drive Image 2002 and Ghost 2003 however they do not have the ability
to backup individual files or do incremental backs like Backup MyPC can.

For just data, it may be easier to burn CD's if you have an application that
does such.
