We have SMS Server 2.0 w/ SP5 that pushes out updates to our applications.

All of the XP Boxes still running SP1a can get updates with no problems.
But any machine with SP2, the update fails.

On the SP1a boxes, the following SMS components are installed:

-Available Programs Manager Win32
-Hardware Inventory Agent
-NT Event to SNMP Trap Translator - Status NOT Available
-Remote Control
-SMS Client Base Components
-Software Distribution
-Software Inventory Agent
-Windows Management

When I look in a SP2 machine, in the SMS Management Client, NONE of the
above components are installed in the 'Components' tab. The box for 'Start
Component & Repair Installation are both grayed out.

I have the XP Firewall disabled. I have other firewalls disabled. Not sure
of what else to try/do?? If the firewall is disabled, do I have to add SMS
Client to the list of exceptions, in the Firewall?

You cannot install some updates or programs: Go to: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;822798&Product=winxp
