Windows XP Service Pack 1

I read an article in PC World where is says Microsoft has
a patch out for slower performance but you must call
Microsoft 1-800-936-5700. The person I spoke to said that
the patch could be found in the knowledge base, however I
have not found anything. If you are successful please
advise
