When doing work in folder like deleting or moving files folder stops and then..

Hello all,

I hope someone can help me out. When am doing work in a
folder, coping a file or deleting or other such tasks...
the folder stops responding and then the contents
disapere, a long with everthing on the desktop and then
resets.

All contents come back on the desktop but folder are gone
that I was working on. I have to reopen them. I beleave
it is also messing with my burner in the process. Because
I am having problems getting cd's to burn.

Due to the folders reseting.

Can any one help me on this?
