My system (3 months old) is an AthlonXP 2000 running Windows XP Home
with 256 Mb memory. Because of occasional system slow downs I have
started keeping a check on temperatures and find that when the CPU
temperature reaches 55°C plus the system suffers a dramatic slowdown.
However I am told that the peak working temperature for the Athlon
2000 is in the range 80-90°C.
What are the views of others of working temperatures and are the
readings obtained by software likely to be accurate?
