contact disappeared in messenger 7.0

I went to view a contact in my windows messenger program and it was no longer
there. Has this happened to anyone before and what is the reason?? I know
they had not been online for a few weeks because of problems and wondered if
it just deleted it.

First, try restarting your computer and see if the contact reappears.
If this does not help, you can see if your contact is still in the My
allow list. In Messenger, click the tools menu, then click options. In
the box that appears click the privacy tab. Here you will see on the
left a list called My allow list. Here you can add each contact to to
your list again. To do so right click on a contact and choose add to
contacts.
Sometimes there may be problem probably on the MSN server.But if all
fails then you will have to add the contact again.
