Windows is asking for a password at the "welcome screen" all of a sudden.
I've never set-up a password since I've gotten my laptop for Christmas
because it never asked for one. How can I just go to the desktop as
before?...Thank You For Your Assistance

One of our frequent posters, named Nepatsfan, posted this recently in regard
to your question:
Go to Start -> Run.
Copy and paste the following into the Open box:
control userpasswords2
Click OK.
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer".
In the box that pops up, replace Administrator in the "User Name"
box with your user account. Enter your password twice.
Note: You can leave the password box blank if your account does
not have a password.
Click OK twice and reboot to see if you get the desired results.

Click Start, Run and type "control userpasswords2", and click Ok.
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"
option, and click Ok.
