My windows XP has stopped. The error message
is "unmountable_boot_volume". The stop message
is :0XOOOOOOED (0X80AA6E30,OXC000009C,
0X00000000,OX00000000).
The system will not start under safe mode. Can anyone
advise what has happened?

Kerry;
Power off, open the case and reseat the hard drive IDE ribbon cable at
both ends.
If that fails:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q297185&
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=315403
Otherwise go to the website of the hard drive manufacturer and
download their hard drive diagnostics.
