Windows XP Delay....

Hi people, was wondering if anyone can help me out here. i
am running a p4 2.4b, 512 mb ram and gigabyte mb 8ie533. i
never used to have this problem but now i do. when i get
into windows, i double click on anything, example 'winamp'
and it wont load..i wait and wait.. nothing. the second i
press 'cntrl,alt,del' and task manager comes up, winamp
starts up.. i dont understand..i had visited the black
viper website and had removed afew processes that surely i
do not use such as wirelesszero config, and smartcard
etc.. but im not sure what to do..please help..

That symptom usually means that something is hanging up explorer.exe.
The task manager interrupts explorer and allows your double-click to be
executed. This can be caused by viruses or by spyware. Suggest you do an
AV scan and download and run Spybot to check for these conditions.
