I'm wondering...
Using System File Checker with commando sfc /scannow will
scan your system and replace missing or damaged XP system
files with the correct version.
What happens if SP1 is installed and repair is needed?
Will Sp1 be used to repair or is SFC not intelligent
enough and will it ask for the original win xp-cd?
Any ideas?

Pat;
That is the purpose of C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles.
Although some people delete this file to save space thus necessiating
another install of SP1.
