S-video to USB adapter so i can play Xbox on my monitor! i knew SP2 would be
nothing but trouble. man if they don't change their act i'm going to my
second favorite operating system Knoppix Linux and i use both the Security
Tools Distribution and the regular 3.8.1 and i like them because they boot
and run off the CD! no install necessary! thank god i have another hard drive
to install my WinXP Professional SP1 because SP2 sucks! i normally am a fan
of Windows XP but this sucks!
P.S. don't get home edition on anything it's junk! Professional is Safer and
more reliable than home trust me we only use Pro versions in InfoMaven. thank
god for Microsoft Action Pack (new programs and operating systems are shipped
to use thats why i have Office 2003 Pro with 7 keys that can be activated
twice each key same with Win XP SP1, Server 2003 (each version), WinXP x64
and more.) Action Pack i believe is for Distributors only. and trust me when
i say stuff is junk because i know a heck of lot of stuff about computers and
i build them, and of course seeing as I'm a teen i am gamer

Alon, you are one impressive kid! A computer maven for sure.
Good luck in your career (which will it be, computers or "something else"?).
LOL!
I know everyone says that Pro is more stable, but here is what MS says:
http://www./howtobuy/choosing2.aspmicrosoft.com/windowsxp/pro
Which feature missing from Home is the problem, in your opinion?
PS: Hack into your Dad's site and put some margins on those pages! The print
is too close to the edge.

Balderdash.

There is zero difference in performance or stability between Windows
XP Home and Windows XP Pro. The two versions are compiled from the
same source code base and the differences between them consist only of
certain features or functions which are found only in XP Pro.

Windows XP Pro is a "superset" of XP Home.

Unless you have a known or anticipated future need for at least one of
the features or functions that are unique to XP Pro and which are not
part of XP Home there is no benefit in getting XP Pro instead of XP
Home.

The Microsoft Action Pack is an annual subscription license and must
be renewed (and paid for) each year. Licensees are also subject to
onsite audits to ensure that they are still eligible for the license
and are complying with the terms of that license.

Ron, where do you think the misperception (a rampant one) that Pro is more
stable comes from? There is no fundamental basis for this to be true.
Any idea what could give rise to this perception?

The name "Pro" and the fact that it cost more than Home is what gives
the unfounded perception that it's better. Wouldn't you rather use a
professional version of Windows? <g>

It is, in the way that any poster relays it to be within their own scope.
If a user needs Pro to fulfill their needs, then within their arena it is
more stable for their work environment and/or purpose(s). Who are we to
question anyway?

NOT, did you really read his missive? It was riddled with cliché and old
