I did everything before I updated to windows xp.I got new
driver of printer and scanner. Then I had to purchase
updates for virus and cd burner. Then when nothing seemed
to work right was told I needed more memory. I bought
that.Yep I feel stupid lol. I love windows xp but wonder
if I would ever get it right where I could turn on
computer like I did with windows ME. I wanted to uninstall
XP and then reinstall but cannot find the program to do
this. I have looked everywhere lol.My trouble is I really
do not know what the heck I am doing wrong. I do know I
sure do like someone trying to help me Thanks to all and
hope someone will be able to tell me what to do.

The Windows XP CD is bootable and contains all the tools necessary
to partition and format your drive. Follow this procedure and allow
Windows XP to partition and format your drive:
1. Open your BIOS and set your CD Drive as the first bootable device.
2. Insert your Windows XP CD in the CD Drive and reboot your =
computer.
3. You'll see a message to boot to the CD....follow the instructions.
4. The setup menu will appear and you should elect to delete the =
existing
Windows partitions, then create a new partition(s), then format =
the primary
partition (preferably NTFS) and proceed to install Windows XP.
5. Clean Install Windows XP

6. After installing Windows XP, be sure and visit the support website
of the manufacturer of the computer to download and install any
available Windows XP compatible drivers, such as video adapter
and audio drivers.
7. You'll activate Windows XP in the same manner as you did =
originally,
usually via the internet.

If your install of XP was an upgrade overtop of an existing Me setup then go
into Control Panel->Add and Remove Programs and you can Uninstall Windows
XP. However if you did a clean install of XP, you converted from FAT32 to
NTFS after you upgraded Me, or you did a Repair Install after upgrading then
you won't be able to uninstall XP through Add and Remove Programs. You will
need to repartition, reformat and reinstall Windows Me. See the instructions
here http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q314052

Whatever you do going back to ME is not the solution. Did you do a clean
install with a format.
