Slow File Deletion

I am experiencing very slow file deletions from my WinXP
Professional laptop from a share folder on my company
Win2K Server. File reads, writes and copies are no
problem. Only file deletions are experiencing latencies
of nearly 45 seconds.

Is there a hotfix or workaround?
