Can someone explain why a backup file created with the
backup wizard would be four times bigger than the drive
I'm backing up?

I have a single drive on my laptop and it has 2.8GB of
used disk space. When I used the backup wizard it
created a file that is 8.7GB, too big to burn onto a DVD.

Is there a way to do a system backup into a file that is
more manageable?

Thanks,
Tad

That ASR file is unuseable to do an ASR. =20

When ASR is run from the XP CD, the first thing that happens is that the =
drive is formatted, you lose the backup.bkf file. You need a 2nd HDD or =
a 3rd party backup program that will copy to CDs. =20

No idea, when I do it I get a smaller file (I assume
it is using compression).
